Default Re: What\'s your line to maximize return on this hand?

The setting: Two days ago on Full Tilt, middle-late stages of a 20+2 MTT. They have deep stacks so it makes good practice.

The hand: with 120/240 blinds, there's a random EP limper, loose/weird/horrible button with 7K limps, I complete T8s in the SB with 6K and the BB checks.

The flop is T87, 2 hearts. I bet 720 or 800 or some such into the pot of 960. 2 folds, button calls.

The turn is a T. I think my action'll dry up very quickly if I bet anything substantial and want him to catch a straight, so I check. He minbets 240 into the pot of 2500; I'm completely mystified, shrug my shoulders and CR to 960 hoping he'll call *something*. He...min-reraises me to 1500. I do a mental 'WTF?'/victory dance take and 4 bet to 2700. He five bets, I six bet, he seven bets, I eight bet him all in and he proudly tables KTo for the 9'th nuts.

This doesn't have all *that* much to do with your hand, but for the record I would definitely reopen the betting.

smooth call and open push the river.

a minraise may be decent as well,

thats what i was thinking, or at least throw out a decent bet if checked to you.

he's first to act on the river, so it won't be checked to him....

really depends on the table and players then. perhaps checkraise or try to get someone to reraise you with a small bet on the river.

I love this post. Who gets 9 raises in on the turn in NL? Spectacular.

i'd call and lead out for 400 on any non-6 non-J river. if it's one of those, i check and hope somebody has it or represents it.
