Re: My hand might be good, so i check.
[ QUOTE ]
Do you really think a pair hand calls a turn bet here often enough? My thinking was that the only hand that would call is something like at least 2 pair or a set, and even those hands would perhaps fold on the river. [/ QUOTE ] These guys don't know how to fold 1 pair hands to anything less than a raise. Value bet here, and it's not close - the sticky part is what to do when raised, and against most of these opponents it's an easy fold...certain trickier ones it would make me squirm to muck the ignorant end of the straight but I'd do it anyway, because the pot is multiway, and given the prior action. Folding to a turn checkraise is super easy... peace john nickle [/ QUOTE ] if so, then bet. not insignificant is offering a free chance at 7 outs to split. |

Re: My hand might be good, so i check.
i think this hand is really standard if you nkow your opponent well.
if he's passive, i'll bet here. but if he's really tricky/ aggressive i'm not gonna want to face a turn c/r and by checking behind on teh turn i'm inducing a river bluff. stealthcow- |

Re: My hand might be good, so i check.
This is a super easy bet. An ace is raising you allowing you to dump your hand, so you lose only 1 more BB when behind, instead of maybe having to call 2BB with the worst hand. Also, it doesnt matter if neither of them has an ace, they will still call you down with whatever retarded made hand they have, and assuming no ace is out there, there are 7 outs to a chop, so your bet protects against a check through.
