Re: Aces and deep stacks.
Well, yes, but you don't have to pay him off if a [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] falls, although a 30ish bet might be better
edit: was in response to [ QUOTE ] Wouldn't this be encouraging misc draws to call? [/ QUOTE ] |

Re: Aces and deep stacks.
Why no reads? I have a hard time believing you've built up your stack this far without noticing anything about the villain. He's clearly been at the table a while, too (unless he just sat and won a big 3-way all-in or something but, even then, you'd have SOME kind of read from seeing how he won it).
I like to bet $25 on the turn. This gives a flush draw bad odds but also keeps the pot smallish. If you get raised, you dump it as people in this game generally don't semibluff raise the turn with a draw and probably won't raise a smaller overpair on the turn, either (they might on the flop but usually not on the turn). I check/call a non-diamond river and block bet a diamond. If I hit the ace of diamonds, I underbet and hope to get raised by either the made flush or someone representing it. |
