Open trips, raised pot.
Open trips - another raised-pot situation that doesn't exactly thrill me.
MP1 is loose and fairly aggressive. MP3 is fairly loose and passive. Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed) converter UTG+2 ($94.30) MP1 ($74.49) Hero ($124.55) MP3 ($61.65) CO ($61.15) Button ($124.90) SB ($139) BB ($100) UTG ($106.45) UTG+1 ($93) Preflop: Hero is MP2 with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.50. 3 folds, MP1 calls $1, Hero calls $1, MP3 raises to $5.5, 3 folds, MP1 calls $4.50, Hero calls $4.50. Flop: ($18) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players) MP1 checks, Hero checks, MP3 bets $15, MP1 calls $15... Hero? Feel free to comment on all streets. |

Re: Open trips, raised pot.
I don't limp preflop. I fold to the raise. I'd either call or raise a small amount and lock them both in for more money. This might suck, though.

Re: Open trips, raised pot.
make it 40$. you know MP1 is fairly loose aggressive, and you know MP3 (the leader into the flop) is loose passive.
i put MP3 on an overpair with MP1 (depending on his action on your 40$ bet) a weaker 10, 55, or a mid pair. |

Re: Open trips, raised pot.
I think it goes without saying that a raise here would commit me to the hand, which given my third nuts and the pot would be just delightful.

That said, on the flop I would use the dreaded min-raise to try to get both to come along. Each player has already committed $20.50 at this point so the min-raise from you should lock both in for their entire stacks. Either they'll both call and you can re-evaluate the best way to get both of their stacks depending on the turn. Or, hopefully, MP1 will push and you'll obviously call and hopefully MP3 will feel compelled to come along. If this line sucks, somebody please correct me. |

Re: Open trips, raised pot.
I'unno. What do you think? Should I have led into the PFR? That's generally the pick to click, but I feel like the hand I'm representing is just obvious. Check/raise allows me to at least take his initial PSB, and he might not be able to get away when so committed to the pot. What do people think of that call from MP1? What could that possibly mean? Is he calling a raise with anything I beat? Should I care? Just thinkin'.

What line? [/ QUOTE ] I think he assumes the obvious: I raised to $50, MP3 folded, MP1 pushed for his remainder, I called, was shown 55 and failed to improve. Does it matter? I guess not. |
