Top young player?
So I recently was forwarded from a friend this email about an MTV casting call:
"True Life: I'm a Poker Player Every year, millions of dollars are won in Las Vegas in the high stakes, pressure-ridden world of poker. Are you living the good life cleaning up on the tournament circuit? Or are you a young up and comer looking to try your hand (and luck)? If so, we want to talk to you! "If you're currently on the circuit, are training to be there soon, or just are the best poker player in town -- and appear to be between the ages of 18-28 -- send your name, location, and story to poker@mtvstaff.com." What do people think? Even if I though of myself as an "up and comer" or "the best poker player in town," I'm not sure I'd want to do that. Is advertising yourself in such a manner really good for a poker player? Or would it probably not matter one bit except for maybe getting laid by young floozies impressed that you're "that guy who was on MTV"? |

Its worth a shot. I bet anyone on those shows gets paid well. And you'll get laid. Worst that happens is you get turned down

Re: Top young player?
You should definitely try out if you are reasonably attractive and look good wearing what a poker player is expected to wear (stuff like The Matador et al.: leather jacket, button-down striped shirts, other masculine stuff).
Really, looks are going to be much more important here than any poker ability. They can make it look like you are beating the game no matter what, and likely will have no idea one way or the other. There are tons of people who could play this role and it will go to someone who looks good and has a modicum of acting ability; outgoing and personable, but also rough and tumble. -Michael |

Re: Top young player?
I can only imagine how many people respond to this casting call if for no other reason as a chance to try and experience the lifestyle of a poker player.
