Default When Edmonton got the \'big game\'

So, kind of in line with the discussions in the Wynn thread,
last week there was a 'big' tournament at the Yellowhead casino in Edmonton, and a friend and I went for the side games.
When we got there around 10:30pm they were spreading a few 3/6 games, a few 4/8 (half HE half omaha), two 10/20, one 15/30, two 20/40, one 30/60, one 40/80, and one 2-5 PL Dealers choice.

it seemed very very silly to me that they spead every limit they could dream up, and as the tables closed when the night went on alot of players were left on waiting lists for different games, which wqouldn't have happened if the room had spread a few tables each of only like 4 limits.

When asked, the floormen looked at me like I was an idiot and said 'That's what the people want to play'. Is that how they should be deciding what limits to open?

Is setting tables for tourney side games very different then setting tables for a regular day - ie according to the Wynn thread, they shouldn't spread every in between limit, or is it different with a huge influx of people?
