I just tip a red and say keep em coming and then tip 1 or 2 for each one after that. sometimes i order 2 at a time in which case i hold out the $5 while ordering so they dont give me some BS about how they arent allowed to bring me 2.

The one time I've treid the redbird upfront strat it worked very well. It was at the Wynn and I was changing from drunk to hungover so I told her I needed lots of water; she proceeded to bring me two bottles each time she came around for the remainder of the morning.
