What were you planning on doing on the turn UI? I would just check raise the flop and take it from there. By "crazy" I am assuming you mean way too agressive and could be semi-stealing here with quite a bit?

uh-huh, like a 75/35/3 over a smallish (50) hand size. so if he 3bets me on the flop i feel committed to calling down. i figured he'd autoraise my turn donk w/ just about any 2, especially if he hand any ace. are you thinking a turn c/r or a flop c/r is better?

With your trips, a bet-3bet seems best on the turn. I like a flop check raise more than an unimproved turn check raise because as you said, he sometimes 3-bets the flop with worse. Plus you have 6 clean outs, so 25% equity when behind, and you are often ahead. Get that money in on the flop. If you turn check raise UI, you risk getting 3-bet by his ace, or folding out one of his worse hands that he would of continued to bluff at you.

cc on the flop is perfect. i like the checkraise on the turn because your bet looks like you just caught your gutshot. donking is close but better if you think there is a strong chance hell raise or that hell fold a pp to a cr.

You think so? 44 is way too vulnerable to be giving free cards, so if there's any chance that a c/r or bet out will get a fold then I prefer that line.
