Default Calling a Raise with AA in Deep Stack Tourney?

5k buyin at the Commerce. We start with 10k in chips with 90
minute rounds. Blinds are 25/25 and we're about 25 minutes into the event.

Early player makes it T100. I'm in the cutoff with AA.
From what I've seen so far raiser has loose raising standards, but if he is reraised or he faces aggression on the flop he runs.

I decide to flat call with my Aces. Two things went through
my mind. I strongly felt if I reraised I would win a small
uncontested pot and I didn' want to waste my Aces. Secondly, I had never played AA like this before, so let's try something new.

Comments appreciated and results to follow.

Bruce

Hero needs to raise.

You need to isolate with the deep stacks, you need information, and you need to give villain a chance to play back with a big pair.

There is absolutly nothing wrong with calling in this situation, but you have to be strong enough to fold if things turn pair shaped.

Paul Phillips had a thread about calling a UTG raise with AA and deep stacks but I cant find it.If I remember correctly he even went as far as to say it would be a mistake to re-raise AA this early and with these stacks.

Only attempt this if you are a very good to amazing post-flop player (read: you will not automatically put your entire stack into the pot on a harmless looking board.)

Generally, I'd rather do this at the mid-late stages of the tournament when you/villain has around 15-20BBs. With deep stacks, make him pay if he has KK.

If this is sarcasm... kindly shut up and post less. Posts like this contribute little to nothing to this forum.

With stacks this deep, I don't see anything wrong with the play.

Nothing at all? You're really ready to say that unequivocally not knowing anything about the play of OP? Some people lay infinite implied odds by slowplaying hands like these with deep stacks. Certainly there are some caveats.

If the table has been passive and you think that the blinds and button will fold this is a fine strategy and probably the best way to extract chips because it disguises your hand well.

If this has been a calling station type table I would reraise the early raiser. I like to have AA heads-up or in a pot where I have been the aggressor. I hate being on the defensive with the #1 pre-flop hand.

I think this is fine. 4XBB raise, it might just be you and him headsup anyways. Just make sure you don't get carried away on a really coordinated board. Also, this may be a way of future disguising your hands, and people might learn to fear you when you call or limp into a pot.
