can this dell 5100 use 2 monitors?

I think so, it has the same video card as the 9100 that supports 2 monitors. {128MB PCI ExpressTM x16 (DVI/VGA/TV-out) ATI RadeonTM X300 SE HyperMemory1}

what upgrades specs did you use when buying it?

The only upgrades I made was the monitor to 2001FP, memory to 512, vid card to 256 and 1 year warranty. Was just over $1,000 after tax and shipping.
