Default Won $ when seeing flop

The original post in this thread and a reply by TeeJayorTJ concerning pTracker's W$WSF stat have me thinking.

Is this a useful stat? Because these guys are seeing a lot of flops (30+ VP$IP) and winning around 45% of the time they see a flop. Given that they presumably also win a lot of hands preflop, that's a lot of pots they're winning.

So how is this done? Getting to showdown a lot? Finding opponents who are really good at folding? Or just plain running good?

My W$WSF has always been 38-39. Do I just suck?

Guy.

I don't think you should look at this stat without also considering VP$IP, WTSD%, and W$SD. This number doesn't tell you much in isolation.

W$WSF 44%
W$SD 54%
WtSD 37%
VPIP 25%
PFR 20%

How good am I running? Well, I know I'm running good cause I'm like 4.5 BB/100 over the 6.5k hands or so this is at $10/20.

I know winning stats vary quite a bit, and crunching numbers certainly isn't the best way to improve. But out of curiosity, can anyone see obvious gameplay flaws in the following numbers? These are from 11.3k hands of 1/2 and 2/4 6-max, at an underwhelming .59BB/100 (my first three weeks of SH).

W$WSF 36.48%
VP$IP 21.78
PFR 14.48
WTSD 32.86
W$@SD 51.02
AF 2.80

Thanks.

At 10/20...
19,791 hands
25.09 VP$IP
44.13 W$WSF
32.8 WTSD
55.05 W$@SD

W$WSF is scaring the [censored] out of me because it suggests I'm running very good, which my winrate does not agree with. The other stats don't seem to reflect running quite as good either.

Nope, but it looks like you're running bad. So don't stress about your BB/100 for now.

like almost all pokertracker stats its not much good in isolation - ie isolation from other stats and isolation from the winning plan

one of the poker deitys from these boards once posted some stats for 10/20 6 max which were something like - WTSD 40%, W$@SD 49%, W$WSF 42, VP$IP 28% - despite winning less than half the showdowns they got to they were beating the game for plenty - the rationale was that a loosish very aggro style meant he was obliged to call down a lot when he had some showdown potential

i know a rock who went around at about 2BB's/100 in the 5/10 6 max game with WTSD 33%, W$@SD 57%, W$WSF 37%, VP$IP 22% - not sure if thats exactly right but its close - certainly in the 5/10 game i think your WTSD% should be lower than in the 10/20 game but these stats otherwise present a considerable comparison for winning strategies
