Default 25/50 NL AKo - Good semibluff? Overcards + Flush Draw

This is a hand a good friend of mine played. He's not a member of the forum but I'm posting this because I was watching as it ensued.

Ultimate Bet No-Limit Hold'em, $50 BB (9 handed) converter

MP3 ($3925)
Hero ($1325)
Button ($4900)
SB ($10522)
BB ($1719)
UTG ($11087)
UTG+1 ($5000)
MP1 ($8816)
MP2 ($5427)

Preflop: Hero is CO with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
UTG+1 folds, MP1 folds, MP2 folds, MP3 folds, Hero raises to $175, Button folds, SB calls $150, BB calls $125.

Flop: ($525) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero checks.

Turn: ($525) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB bets $350, BB folds, Hero raises to $1150, SB calls $800.

River: ($2822) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)

Final Pot: $2822

(He) was thinking that he could push the SB off of a pair of Queens. He showed weakness on the flop by checking, which could have also been a trap - but why would he bet when a flush card came?

I hate the turn raise. That's your boy's whole stack he just put in there.

Tell your friend not to sit down with 26BB.

As for the hand, bet the flop and take it from there.

I don't play this high but..

I see several of the regulars there like Shootagain buy in for only $1250 only and build it up from there.

My friends been very lucky when he's taking these shots so..

Nobody likes the semibluff?

nice river.
that kind of play is fine when you are way deeper.

I don't dislike it as much as everyone else. A lot depends on who the opponent was. Playing his stack in that game, I might have pushed preflop and I would have pushed on the flop.

push on the flop is fine.

turn play is the typical overly big-balled maneuver for ub 25-50 that makes checking big hands so profitable.

Diablo, Would you consider flat-calling there? Why or why not?

Thanks.

Am i the only that thought he got the flush on the turn? No way he would've called with QQ on the turn otherwise.

As someone else said, i don't like semi-bluffing like that with your whole stack, it's bad play.

The flop-play is even worse, lay of a potbet here.
