Default Raising turn

This hand occurred in a session where I have missed almost every flop, so I haven't shown a great deal of strength on later rounds. One of the major things I need to work on is my timing for raising the turn. I don't want to lose guys like this that may be drawing thin, but I also don't want to raise with the worst hand too often.

Good raise or bad raise here?

SB is a decent player.

Paradise Poker 3/6 Hold'em (8 handed)

Preflop: Hero is Button with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].

Looks good. I try to mess around less on a coordinated board like that.

Did you think about raising preflop?

I like the raise. You protect your hand against possible overcards and gut-shot straights and if you are reraised I think you can safely fold the turn or possibly the river if you don't improve (if you think he would reraise you here with two pair, many players don't). He could also be on a flush draw, in which case the raise is fine as well.

Of course, if he is on a stone cold bluff, calling would be better. I think raising is best in most circumstances, though.

EDIT: Raise preflop.

I've gotten a little more passive with KJo against limpers pf. One limper and I raise this. Good to know your thoughts though.

I don't think you should be. I think you have enough pot equity against two limpers that this is an easy raise. I usually raise this even if there are 3 limpers. Perhaps I'm too aggressive?

Against only two limpers I'm even raising with KTo.
