Default 99 BB

Should I be 3-betting this? If so, how low do you go? I definitely would with JJ or better, maybe TT. In this case I would have if not for the MP1 limper.

Absolute Poker 2/4 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
2 folds, MP1 calls, 3 folds, Button raises, 1 fold, Hero calls, MP1 calls.

Flop: (6.50 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero checks, MP1 checks, Button bets, Hero folds, MP1 calls.

Turn: (4.25 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
MP1 checks, Button bets, MP1 folds.

Final Pot: 5.25 BB
Main Pot: 4.25 BB, won by Button.
Pot 2: 1 BB, returned to Button.

Results in white below:
No showdown. Button wins 5.25 BB.

Man, and when I saw the subject line I thought '99 big bets? That's a lot of betting!'

I wouldn't raise here. If any T J Q K or A fshows on the flop and someone bets, I pretty much have to fold. Not to mention that it's likely the button has a higher pocket pair already. I just get in as cheap as I can and hope to take them for a ride if the third 9 falls on the flop.

With the button raising a limper, the raise is more likely to mean a quality hand. If the raiser has loose standards and the limper isn't too loose a calling station, I'd consider reraising to get it heads-up.

I highly doubt the limper would fold preflop. I would more likely 3 bet hoping to get one of these bozos to fold middle pair on the flop/turn. If I didn't think I could do that then I would probably just call.

With the Button iso raising 1 MP limper to get it h/u with him, I would just call there with 99.

In 2/4 Ax, Axs, Ks, Qs and even Js are routinely limped with from MP and they call you down when it hits. When you 3 bet PF, you have to protect that hand and it's hard to push them off theirs when they're calling 1 bet.
