Default $55: A8s, SB v. BB Hand

Scuba Chuck's posts got me thinking about my blinds play, for better or for worse. Villain seems solid.

Raise pf for sure.

Calling the flop is fine, so is raising. If you're going to call I like potting it if checked to on turn.

Call turn. I don't think he's going anywhere, but you have outs.

River is probably not good. I bet he calls here a lot.

EDIT: Got bet sizes messed up. That's a pretty thin call on the turn unless you have plans for the rest of the hand, think you can extract big when you hit, or think you may be good a decent amount of the time (I don't think this is true). I think a fold on the turn is fine; so's a call.

I'd probably raise preflop for value and because we have position and a good hand if he calls. On the flop, I would raise because there's a good chance we have the best hand, I don't want to give a card to a diamond and we have tons of outs if called.

On the turn, if he checks to us after the way preflop and flop were changed I'd take the free river. However, since we didn't I like your turn raise. On the river I'd check behind expecting to chop a huge % of the time, and the rest of the time he's trapping us with a 7.

With A8s, I like a raise after SB completes.

With your line, I also like a raise with OESD and two overcards on the flop. He could be betting with total air.

I don't like the raise on the turn. Too late after the 6 pairs on a highly coordinated board. You have nothing with one card to come. I let it go.

Don't like the river bet. Maybe you'll fold out a straight, but I doubt it, if he's gone this far he has to make a crying call.

So, I guess I play this totally differently. Just my two cents...

After he calls the raise on the turn, I think this pot will hardly ever be chopped.
