Lessons Learned this Year

Hey all,

Stokken, probably because he's way up by the north pole and it's dark and depressing this time of year, wanted to know about the problems in your game. I'm curious about the ways you've improved in the last year.

Lessons I've learned (and sometimes even apply):

1. It is good to reraise all-in with or without a hand when you have 12-15BB, and the original raiser has a similar or slightly larger stack. (Thanks Woodguy!)

2. Re-stealing is really, really important late in a tournament.

3. Without taking anything away from the importance of stealing, my game got better when I started doing it less. NB: This is true because I was doing it waaaay too often, and my post flop play is not great.

4. If you still have a playable stack, and everything about the hand says you're beat, it's okay to fold. You don't have to win every pot you enter.

nice post. i think those are all areas that i could work on as well. thanks.

2 and 3 are areas I've improved on massively aswell, especially the restealing, that's what has really helped swelled my stack late on.

During the last few MTTs I've played, I KNOW the villian is re-stealing. What constitutes a strong enough hand to push back, esp given the variance of BB/SB hands?
