Default How about THIS for a Re-Steal?

Vilian is TIGHT and although he could have anything here, feels like a good spot for a shot.

Again, I'd like to hear some discussion on re-steals in general, position, stack size, table dynamics, etc...thanks!

I would raise more preflop. I usually raise to 600, but 700-800 is OK too. Unless you really like playing flops, I don't like the small raise with a medium strong hand.

I would check this flop. Your six outs are probably good. You may be ahead. If villain bets the turn, you have the option to raise, call, or fold. If he checks, you can check again or bet. I think checking gives you more control. It is easy for villain to play back at your bet, with the paired board. To me, part of the advantage of position is you don't have to bet every flop.

Given the flop action, I like your reraise. Becomes a game of chicken unless villain actually connected with the flop. You probably have to fold if he comes back at you.

I don't think folding is a bad play either after you are raised. It may not be worth playing sheriff.

How's your image? I save this play for the times I've been carddead for 3 or more orbits (normally I'm la-aggy so it doesn't come up much). If villain thinks you squeak when you walk I like it, otherwise not worth the risk IMO.

Definite points for the cajone factor though, if I'm villain I just peed myself... your last minraise just SCREAMS monster.

i think that villain will rarely make that play without an 8 or 9, and i think it's unclear whether he'll fold a 8. i think bet-fold is the best line here.

On small-middling paired boards, I'm not sure how much respect leading out gets. I think you're probably right that you're rarely getting raised here when you're ahead, but I also think that this bet has less chances of moving your opponent than usual. I might prefer a line like check-calling and leading blank looking turns or check-raising a moderate amount on the flop. I'm curious what other people's opinions on this are.

EDIT: I'm an idiot and should pay more attention to the action; I didn't see that we were second to act after the flop. I guess my question still stands if you reverse the positions. I might check behind here.
