Should I be checking this turn? If yes, how big of a river bet do I call if a blank hits?

If you check the turn, you probably have to call up to a pot sized bet on the river. Im not sure that checking this turn is correct. I would bet about 3/4 pot and fold to a raise.

This hand is totally fine unless this guy is really aggro and will bluff a lot. I wouldn't call much on the river really. Very read dependent though. Some guys know what you have, know you haven't hit the board and are just raising to get you off of what the now know is a pretty good hand.

i would bet the turn here. if the board was less connected then i'd like a turn check. i'd probably also only bet 3/4 or 2/3 on the turn.

fold is good.

Are there any threads which discuss bet size at length? My standard so far has been to bet the pot any time im going to bet except on the river. I know this isnt ideal but it keeps things simple coming from a limit backround...

standard is 1, 2/3, 1/2 for flop, turn, and river

where the fractions are the size of the pot

With experience, you will develop your own strategy. Mine is too complicated to really type out, it totally depends on the board (A high rainbow, draw heavy low board, paired, paired and draw heavy, etc)
