Default Trying to convince local card room to allow MP3s.

First of all, this is NOT a question of " SHOULD MP3s be allowed?"

I play for up to 18 hours at a time and know I want to be able to wear one. I'm NOT looking for reasons why they should not be allowed.

To my point: How best to convince my local Card Room to allow MP3s. Their consistent excuses are not being able to distinguish between cell phones (which they do not allow to be talked on during the course of a hand, and is fine with me), and they say they fear MP3s will slow up the games.

The fastest best run games I've played at (Bellagio) allow MP3s (and actually cell phones during a hand too). I'm sure this boils down to dealer control as well as players respecting the game more.

Any advise on justification and approach to achieve the MP3s?

My thanks in advance.
Kevin

LOL nh.

To OP, it's not going to happen in KC, so might as well give it up. Unfortunately Harrah's NKC isn't the Bellagio. I do love how all of your posts reference Bellagio in one way or another though

Hilarious.

What about if you kept it exposed on the table so they can see it at all times instead of keeping it in a pocket? It's kind of hard to confuse a cell phone with most MP3 players..

If the concern is truly about cheating, then this argument doesn't hold water. Many/most MP3 players have radio tuners that would allow for the same kind of communication to the player at the table.
