Default EP CC from TAG

MP1 here 20/9/1.67

Party Poker (10 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. CO posts a blind of $1.
<font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, MP1 calls, <font color="#666666">5 folds</font>, ....

Twice this happened to me tonight where a TAG called my UTG or UTG+1 raise cold. Threw me for a loop.

How do others handle this situation. What hand can you put him on?

If you're raising a lot (more than his 9%, anyway, which you should be), you're going to be coldcalled a bit more often by small/medium pocket pairs. That's what I'd put him on, although AQ is always possible.

BTW, in this case, the presence of a poster enables MP1 to coldcall with a slightly bigger range of hands...stuff like suited broadway.

my guess would be some kind of suited broadway, most likely AQs AJs or KQs, or a mid-pair probably 77-99

Hands like AJs, AQo, KQs, or middle pocket pair might CC here. I'd be inclined to think you have him dominated more often than not. No use worrying about it too much IMO.

He's often floating a pocket pair. TT-77ish

Something like AJs, ATs KQs would also be a textbook cold-call.

If the flop is rags, brace yourself for a raise.

Cold calling a raise with ATs is far from textbook

I was thinking what hands I would CC a TAG UTG raise with and there were none other than possibly AQs-AJs.

This goes to show you that stats sometimes lie to you. One opponent had 77 and 1 had A9o.
