VMWare is also how linux users run windows on their machine. It's quite useful but sometimes graphics can be really slow.

On an interesting note, you could purchase a new machine to put in the closet and run remote desktop software (free) for about the price of a VMware license. You would have to steal the OS to make it the same price. This would be a much more robust solution.
