Re: calling down with TP
[ QUOTE ]
live 4/8 with a kill (not a kill pot) 2 limpers, i raise KdQc in MP, blinds call, limpers call. (5 for 10SB) QxJdTxr flop SB checks, BB bets, both limpers call, i call, SB folds. (4 for 7BB) 3d turn BB bets, limpers fold, i call. (2 for 9BB) on the river i plan to: a) call a blank b) raise on an A/9 obviously c) raise on a K and fold to a 3-bet [/ QUOTE ] A river BB checks, i bet, he calls. BB is about to muck when someone asks to see both hands. He shows QJo. I dunno, I think both raising or calling the flop are valid plays here. Honestly, I don't know which one is better. Reasons I didn't raise the flop: -BB bets into the whole field with the PFR being last to act..he's got me beat most of the time here. -I have a one card OESD, I'm drawing to a chop pretty often. -Raising doesn't protect my hand/clean up outs. |

You're way ahead of AJ and AT, which could easily be betting here. [/ QUOTE ] i really doubt these hands are betting this flop. |

Re: calling down with TP
[ QUOTE ]
He has top pair with second best kicker and no one else raised preflop. He most likely has the best hand and needs to protect it. [/ QUOTE ] This statement is wrong on two accounts. 1) You're way overestimating how good your hand is on the flop (as a made hand) 2) raising protects nothing. if you're raising its for a far different reason. |
