Default First time live in Atlantic City, tips?

Hi, I will be playing live for the first time later this summer in Atlantic City, any tips for me? Good casinos? Good limit to play? Cheapest rake?

Any tips or advices will be appreciated, thanks in advance!

All the rakes in AC are about the same. Do you play low limit, mid limit or high limit? This will impact people's recommendations.

If you are playing low limit, don't sit at the lowest limit table. Same skill level at 3/6 versus 2/4, and the play is no better (in fact, it's arguably worse at 3/6). And the rake isn't as bad.

I'll play mostly limit, 3-6 or 5-10, but I would like to maybe try no limit, if I can find some table with a max buy-in of about 200-300, if that exists live.

I'd also like to play a few tournaments...

The Taj spreads a $1/$2 NL game with $300 max buy-in. It's a juicy game to say the least. Most pots are raised however, and $10-$15 is a standard raise. It can be swingy. Play tight, jam with the best of it, make draws pay dearly (and they will) and you'll be ok. Don't limp in early position hoping for a cheap flop with draw hands as it will probably be raised behind you.

LOL. You really haven't been to AC, have you?

As long as you wear a shirt and pants/shorts, they don't care. AC isn't Monte Carlo, especially the Taj.

It's Atlantic City... You're lucky if the guy next to you has bathed in the past week

Anything flies. Look as nice or shabby as you want.

Do a search of Atlantic City FAQ. It will answer some of your questions.
