Default TT vs UTG raise to give up on the river.

Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (6 max, 5 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is BB with T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
UTG raises, 3 folds, Hero misclicks and 3-bets, UTG calls.

Flop: (6.33 SB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, UTG calls.

Turn: (4.16 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, UTG raises, Hero calls.

River: (8.16 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets, Hero folds.

Final Pot: 9.16 BB

To be honest, the nonheart ace is the only card I would fold to.

The 3-bet is correct IMO... if it was a misclick it shouldn't have been.

I like the hand after that.

I check/call the turn/river against an unknown.

He will likely bluff at the turn with a 4-flush. If you check-call the turn then he will fire again on a non-heart river because your play will look like a busted flush draw. This is very profitable for you because you are getting him to make 2 mistakes with a worse hand.

If he's on air then he is stabbing at the turn and river for the same reasons.

On the flip side, your turn bet allows your opponent to make the following good decisions:

1) Call with a draw that they can fold on the river.
2) Raise with trips.
3) Raise a flush.
4) Fold a crap hand.

I think a decent or passive opponent won't bet his flushdraw on the turn when checked to, especially when he knows ur aggro (a c/r is possible)
So in most cases I think bet>check, since he's more often on a fd than he has a K and might semibluff a worse hand

I agree with this.
Also with checking you give a freecard to a FD.

Checking is bad. I want him to raise hands I am ahead of. And free cards suck.

I think it would have been a misclick if you didn't 3-bet preflop...

I think you should check call the turn and a non ace river. Your bet on the turn certainly isn't folding out a better hand, and he may bluff with stuff that he would of folded. Also, getting raised by his somewhat often king sucks. I don't think giving a free card is all that bad, considering the benefits of checking.

So you advocate calling the river bet or was Hero correct to fold the river?

I think this is a value-check opportunity and not a value-bet opportunity. I'm curious as to what other posters say because I think this is pretty interesting.

How do free cards suck? If he has two overcards without the heart, QJ, AJ, AQ (not very likely because of the non preflop cap), then he has 4 outs against us. Plenty of the time he will bet when he is behind, but would have folded to a bet. Also, as I said earlier, getting raised sucks when he has a king.
