Re: K8s -- If I played ANY street correctly, let me know
[ QUOTE ]
Did he have ATs or A9s? I don't see what hand 3-bets this flop and checks the turn other than the diamonds. [/ QUOTE ] ATs has the nuts on the turn. He would prolly bet that. |

Re: K8s -- If I played ANY street correctly, let me know
I just read that he 3-bet your checkraise, but I was going to add that maybe bet/calling the river is OK? The problem I see that the only diamond hand that plays this way preflop is some Axs where x is lower than T. Would he 3-bet the flop with 89s? ATs and 9Ts both make the nuts on the turn. Man, it's hard to put him on a pair here, I think even AQ would bet that turn.
If we can't put him on a pair that wouldn't bet that turn, I'm starting to think it's less likely he'd bet the river and pay off with AQ. I change my answer to bet/call. |

Re: K8s -- If I played ANY street correctly, let me know
[ QUOTE ]
I like the river checkraise because he sure played this hand like a diamond draw and having my bet/3-bet capped on the river is going to suck. [/ QUOTE ] I would not have bet/3-bet the river. I would have bet-called. I slow down too soon sometimes, it's true, but in retrospect the flop/turn seems like such a standard free-card play. |

Re: K8s -- If I played ANY street correctly, let me know
Preflop:fold
Flop: check/call...a check raise is pretty decent move if its heads up. But utg+1 called...I just call then. Turn:Bet...he raises, call and CR the river if u improve. For how the action went...man, he's good. Call his river 3-bet (Im guessing thats what happened). Well played hand by him IMO. |

Also forgot to mention river action in my last post...the way u played that hand. Bet/call. With this action anyway.

Re: K8s -- If I played ANY street correctly, let me know
With the BB folding on the flop I also like calling.
If he had stayed in then I like the Checkraise. I doubt your buying any K outs by doing that. I also bet the river. Having it checked through twice would really suck. |

Results
Well, I've pretty much given away the results already, but I'll make it official:
CO had A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] and thoroughly outplayed me in this hand. Perhaps I'm being results-oriented, but I really don't like my river checkraise much at all. In retrospect, I think the turn check behind makes a diamond draw seem pretty likely, and, because of the cards we know (combined with the preflop raise), the nut flush draw seems like the most likely one to me. I think I should have bet-called the river. |
