Best non-paired, unsuited cards to go against pocket 22.
Earlier we had a topic in which you had to chose two cards to go against AA (besides the other two Aces) and folding not being an option.
Now, what two cards would you chose (unpaired and offsuit) to go against Pocket Ducks? Heads-up, all-in. The first choice would be AK but it is not the correct answer. Think carefully. I will reveal the answer soon (without using the calculator, I have it figured out). Good luck |

Haven't done any calculations ... but my instinct would be 67o, which both blocks all of the 22 straights and still has the maximum number of straight outs itself.

Without calculating, I'd say probably JT. Any two overcards will probably win if they make a pair, but JT has more straight possibilities than any higher cards. The rank of the cards still matters a little bit because occasionally you can get two pair on board and the higher cards are less likely to get counterfeited (T8899 JT beats 22, but on 88995 22 chops with 56)

[ QUOTE ]
(T8899 JT beats 22, but on 88995 22 chops with 56) [/ QUOTE ] Your second example is incorrect. 56 would play 88996 while 22 would play 88995 (the board), so 56 would win. On a board of 8899x with x being 6 or higher they will chop though, so your point of higher being better is indeed correct. I would also guess that JTo is the best offsuit non paired hand to take up against 22 in terms of EV. |

It's gotta be something like 34o. Simply because if a 2 comes out, we can still make the straight.
