2/3/5/10 Hand at Lucky Chances SF

Don't know if anyone who posts here plays around the bay area; The game is 2/3/5, 10 to open $200 min-$500 max buy-in. This hand came up last night.

Overall the table is playing very tight, except for one tricky-aggressive guy. This is only the table's 10th or so hand as it just got thrown together as a must-move for the main game.

Me ($405) in BB with QhJh, 3 limpers, SB completes, I check.

Flop Qc8h5h ($50 pot, 5 players)

SB checks, I check, first limper (tricky-aggressive) bets out $100, second limper (unknown) quickly calls. Both cover me.

Easy push? I wasn't so sure.

BTW, last time I was there (when they first started spreading this game) it sucked. Was this game any good, and was there more than one going for an extended period?

There is always a waitlist but I've recently convinced one of the floor managers to put me on it when I call ahead. There are some very solid regulars, but usually there are some very bad players, a few of which are regulars. Last night there were 20 on the wait so they opened a must-move, which happens a few times a week. Occasionally, the game is full of the very good very regulars and I turtle. When were you last there? Do you live around the bay?

This is kinda funny, but I guess the last time I was there was last year. Ah... online poker... I actually preferred The Palace game in Hayward since there was no cap and it was often killed (1/2/2 5 to go with an optional kill) and filled with people who liked to gamble; though it was a sketchy place.

Yeah I live in the Eastbay.

Oh, and a new setup is asking for a new set of decks.

I live in Berkeley, drive to LC a few nights a week. I heard someone stuck a knife in a dealer at Hayward a while ago... I think I'll pass. Sounds even sketchier than the Oaks, where you can buy hot laptops in the parking lot.

The $100 flop bet is weird....Anyway, you need to lead out at the flop to make getting it all in even easier. As played, push still looks OK (but only because of dudes strange overbet and the caller).

You really want to lead out with a $400 stack into a $50 pot? Say you lead $50 and get raised to $200. If you push at that point you are doing it completely on value as you have little fold equity. Whereas the attempt to check-jam could get your pair+flush draw heads up where it does best.

If you don't get raised when you lead out then you end up with a $100-$150 and a $350 stack out of position not really sure if you hand is good and what a blank is.

If you check and its check around then its probably an easy small pot to pick up.

If you had a deeper stack you might be able to argue that if you check then you might be able to get away from the pair+flush draw when it was in bad shape but with such a small stack I don't think thats usu. possible.

The $100 bet was weird, the other guy calling was worrisome. I figured I had the leader beat, but thought the caller might be on the nut-flush draw, as I had seen him drawing at every chance he had up to this point. For this reason I considered folding for seconds but then pushed, expecting (at least) bettor to fold. Both called and I knew I was in trouble. Flush hit the river, bettor turned over KK, caller Ah5h for the nuts.

I live in Bay Area but only been to LC a handful of times.... how would you compare the 2/5 game to how Party Poker plays?? more or less aggressive than say the typical 2/4 party $400 game??
