So this was the third tournament I played today. I know I was the favorite, but not knowing this did I make the right play?

I don't like it much. Once you're re-re-raised, it's almost certain there will be a showdown.

Now maybe in the $5 games this play makes sense, as you were way ahead this time, but I don't see someone turning over 5's in this spot in the $55s very often.

More likely you're either a slight favorite or a big underdog, which isn't a great spot this early.

I don't like it either. I was surprised to see that the BB had 55, but he could easily have had KK, AK, KQ, KJ or even worse at this level. I'd prefer to call the re-raise and fold to a bet on the flop when the king comes out, though there's so much money in the pot I'd be tempted to take a stab at it on the flop if it's checked to me and I'd probably end up where you did.

I had a flimsy read on the guy. I thought probability was better than even money that he didn't have a lot. I assumed I had a small edge, but not big enough to push at that stage in the tournament. Don't push small edges, I read somewhere.

when you are reraised here after raising 5BB what did you put him on? the only typical hand you could beat here is AK ro AQ. usually it is rare and a bad play for your opponent to have worse than that so unless you had a read on him that he was worse than that you should probably just call.
