Default Question for Southern Cal online & B&M players

I'm going to be in Los Angeles next month, and I'm really looking forward to playing at the world famous Commerce Club. I'm an online player, playing multiple tables at the 2/4 limit. I'm a consistent winner at that limit, nothing spectacular, but a solid win rate over a good sample.

What limit would you recommend that I play at the Commerce Club?

$9-18 if you can afford it. $4-8 if you can't. Just be ready for LAG's in droves. They also have $6-12, but usually only one or 2 tables. Chips are in $1 denominations for $4-8, $2 for $6-12, and $3 for $9-18. I usually bring enough to buy 5 racks(racks are 100 chips), but typically will not go in more than 3 racks unless the game is super juicy. Usually there are 7-8 $9-18 games and prolly 10-15 $4-8 games on weekends.

If you are only going to play $4-8, Hustler is a very reasonable alternative. One blind, cutie cocktail waitresses, huge jackpots, & nice atmosphere. Game selection is key as some tables will have 8 total donks and some tables will play very tight. They also have a players card you can use to get free food after some hours of play.

I've mentioned this before, but with you guys having $1, $2, and $3 chips, it's lunacy to not have the standard at the 4-8 be the $2 chip and likewise the $3 chip at the 6-12.

The more chips in the pot = more loose calls = more bad play.

Do not question the logic of players that play this way. They are fish and their play ought not be questioned by +ev players, only acknowledged and accepted. It's not lunacy...it builds pots that appear larger than they actually are. Big pots attract players looking to gamble and seeking action. Commerce is not only the poker capital of the world, it is also home to the largest number of poker fish in the world. Do not question it. Resistance is futile.

BTW, I'm not joking.
