The difference between Party and UB
thought this hand was interesting. It occured on UB. For one pot, I was happy I wasn't playing on Party.
I limp in on the button with 77. Flop is 5 way for one bet. It comes 9-9-5 with two spades. Checked to LP player who bets, I raise, and everyone folds including LP. Next hand... |

Re: The difference between Party and UB
UB is way way tighter and way more aggressive. Pots are much smaller. I took my $$ out of that place - why bang your head against the wall playing good players.

Re: The difference between Party and UB
I agree with the UB comments, that UB can be a pretty tight/agressive place to play. There are always exceptions but playing low limits in a super tight on-line room is just dumb because the rake eats your stack. I found Party a little easier and good old Paradise is still one of my faves. I also found that never going under 3-6 keeps me away from most of the real longshot draw players. Having said all that, I've had hands like yours on four different sites. Sometimes, I've had jack squat but just had to see what would happen if I bet from early position into a paired board. Kaboom...ship it.

Re: The difference between Party and UB
good job, but you forgot the part where it's 3 bets to me, but I fold because I'm sure a nine is out there and A5 takes it down when I had the best hand the whole time.

I wasn't even losing that night, I just got tired of there not being any good games. From what I hear, the higher games (5/10 and above) are easier than the rock-populated lower games. The only reason I was playing there was because of the deposit bonus. I deposited money, so I figured I'd play a few hands. Haven't played since then though and I still have like $300 bonus bucks to clear. Somebody made a good point by saying it's more like a rake rebate than a deposit bonus. |

Re: The difference between Party and UB
I literally destroy all the games up to and including the 3/6 limit and the 100 NL. Bankroll is building so not up in bigger limits yet. But the UB games fit my style very nicely. The swings on Party are way to severe and the 100BB buyin structure in the NL games is very schwanky. Those Party Nl games with the 50BB buyin suck.

Re: The difference between Party and UB
The 10/20 and 15/30 on UB are pretty good but not great. Party's 15/30 is much better overall. But its worth playing for people like me who can't play on party because of button bug.
