Default Easy call here?

Ultimate Bet 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
Hero raises, 6 folds, SB calls, 1 fold, UTG :#A500AF(Villain)/ calls.

Flop: (10 SB) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, Villain checks, Hero bets, SB folds, Villain calls.

Turn: (6 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Villain checks, Hero checks.

River: (6 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Villain bets,

Villain in this hand seems pretty tight, and is constantly berating people for playing badly.

His check/call of the flop seemed suspicious, and I couldnt see him betting with 10-10 or so on the end.

I actually like the turn check here. Hero most likely has 4-6 outs if behind and won't be able to call a checkraise. He might also induce a bluff on the river. I think these factors outweigh the value hero is losing from people with weaker made/drawing hands who would call a turn bet. Maybe Rube can convince me otherwise? You should definitely call the river though. It will be a naked bluff or weaker pair enough to be profitable.

At the time the way he checked and called pretty much instantly, I had him on either AJ/Q/K and figured I would just take a card to see if I could hit. I could just smell the checkraise coming and really didnt want to call it.

Given the action so far would you think that thats a reasonable mindset to have in the hand?

hmm, I seem to have about the same mindset as the repliers.
