Default Matasow in jail

I just read that Cardplayer interview. He said he spent 6 months in jail for something drug related. Anyone know what he did exactly?

he picked up a bag of blow for a friend as a favor, he had never dealt before and was only a recreational user....when they offered him immunity if he turned in his dealer he refused, so they gave him 6 months for dealing.

say what you will about him but it takes a lot of courage to have the balls to not be a rat and not take that deal.

Anybody have more details about the case? How come that wasn't considered entrapment?

entrapment: "...for example, an undercover agent may not recruit a previously law-abiding individual into a drug distribution ring in order to prosecute. Many police operations, especially in the areas of drugs and gambling, raise questions of entrapment, which is available as a defense in a trial."

did matusow even try to use that as a defense?

This thread can start over now that my new 5-day suspension policy has been implemented.

Some guy got busted who used yayo, said Mike knew all the big players in town, so a narc befriended Mike and acted buddy buddy with him for many of months, then asked him if he could get some yayo for a mob guy who was in town, Mike said yes, they busted him for trafficking. The case was so airtight, they plea bargained it down from 25 years to 6 months. If he actually fought it hard he probably wouldn't of had to spend anytime in jail.

I'm confused---the case was airtight, yet they got it down to 6 mos. Yet they could have fought it harder somehow and gotten him down to probation or whatever? Which is it?

Also, what's the basis for your information?

I believe he was being sarcastic about how strong the case was.
