Default Quad board. Whats the line on this?

PokerRoom 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (10 handed) converter

Preflop: KeysrSoze is MP2 with 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img],7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] . CO posts a blind of $0.25. MP1 posts a blind of $0.25.
3 folds, MP1 (poster) checks, KeysrSoze calls, 1 fold, CO (poster) checks, 1 fold, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: (4 SB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 players)
SB checks, BB checks, MP1 checks, KeysrSoze bets, CO folds, SB folds, BB folds, MP1 calls.

Turn: (3 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
MP1 checks, KeysrSoze bets, MP1 calls.

River: (5 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
MP1 checks. KeysrSoze ???

Final Pot: 5 BB

If I was paying more attention I would have raised pf with those posters in the pot, but forget that for now. Quad board river play will never be a big leak if wrong, I know, just interesting.

I'd definitely check behind here.

I see no point in betting the river.

Let's talk about PFRing here. You know that if you PFR MP1 will call almost all the time. CO will probably call the majority of the time, too, as will others when they get the chance. Since PFRing won't get you HU or even close, I think it has less value. In this spot, I would have just called in an attempt to get the pot as multiway as possible.

Not exactly. Limp becasue you want as many opponents as possible. If you raise, you encourage some opponents to fold who would have called 1. The fact that it costs less to encourage a multiway pot is a byproduct of the means, not an end.

Check behind. He is certainly not going to fold, and there is a good chance you are beaten now. Betting would just be spewing.

Since everyone has 4 9's don't you split the pot - my assumption is there is no kicker with quad hand. Is this correct ?

I'm relatively new so sorry if this is a dumb question.

You're making the best 5 card hand so the kicker does play. Anyone with an A is splitting/winning this pot.

The best 5-card hand wins so it comes down to the kicker. (quad-9's with an ace kicker would be the best hand, then a king, etc)
