Easy fold on the flop with overpair?
15-30. I raise utg with black kings. 5 people including the BB cold call. 6 to the flop with 12 small bets.
Flop is 886 with 2 diamonds. BB checks. I bet. 2 callers. LP raises. one fold. BB 3 bets. Is this an easy fold? No read on any of the players other than they are appear to be your typical party players that are slightly too loose and slightly too aggressive. |

Re: Easy fold on the flop with overpair?
Maybe this is an easy fold, and calling here represents a leak in my game. My wishful thinking says LP might have a flush draw or pp, BB might even have 97. I guess I'd be tempted to call the flop and check-fold the turn if a diamond or an ace drops, or if LP caps the flop and BB leads out on the turn.

Re: Easy fold on the flop with overpair?
You have 4 outs to a boat, and are getting no less than 10/1 for your call. Hell you might even want to cap! But for sure you want to see the turn to see if you help, or if a blank falls, and make some more decisions then.

You don't think BB would play TT or less exactly the same way?

Re: Easy fold on the flop with overpair?
I don't think it's an easy fold, because I can see a pocket pair lower than yours, but higher than the board getting very spunky with that flop. I think I call and see what the turn brings.
I probably call too much in the full ring games though, and I'm curious what others have to say. B. |

Re: Easy fold on the flop with overpair?
I am not folding here (which is odd, since most of my posts advocate folding where others say raise).
Yes, BB could have an 8. But he could also have 99, TT, A6, 79d, and more. On a draw heavy board like this one, I heavily discount aggressive action on the cheap street. |

You don't think BB would play TT or less exactly the same way? [/ QUOTE ] Yes, but what about the two callers, LP raise and then a BB 3-bet? I am not specifically concerned with any one of those players, but against all 4 of them, with one of them having an 8 makes me concerned, no? |

There's a flush draw on the board. The cards are all mid-to-low. This is why you have so many callers. I'm not saying you shouldn't be at all concerned about a possible 8 out there. I'm just saying it's too early to believe that an 8 (or 66) is there. |

If someone has an 8, we have two outs. If no one has an 8, we have the best hand. There is no real scenario on this flop that leaves us drawing to 4 outs on the turn. |

Re: Easy fold on the flop with overpair?
Against the typical party clan I would reraise in this situation 100% of the time. You may be beat, we just don't have enough proof of it yet. This is a pretty good flop for KK and a bunch of cold callers.
P.S. The King of diamonds would be such a sweet turn card. |
