Re: pocket tens against a Tag
very very very clear pf 3bet.
"tag" is clearly capable of 3betting for a free card. nice turn play. river i think is close either way. i think in the heat of the moment id bet it b/c lose pairs will call and i can easily easily fold if raised checking gives lower pairs a chance to check and allows you to see a sd for 1bet. it also allows heart draw to bluff. so personally its close. in the moment id bet b/c i hate giving up value but i think a check is probably more technically correct. you absolutely must 100% reraise preflop though. -Barron |

Re: pocket tens against a Tag
Thanks.
In thinking about the hand I thought that betting the river was the right move, but I didn't want to be results oriented. My opponent checked behind and he had 99. |

[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] So what does the donkbet achieve? [/ QUOTE ] If I'm ahead it protects my hand. If I'm not, I think the 7 is a good card for me to bet. I pick up outs with that card and my opponent is less likely to raise me since that completed a straight draw. I think there is decent chance that I am ahead. That is my reasoning anyway. [/ QUOTE ] Forgive my denseness, but this is something I frequently wonder when I see these sorts of plays: If you're reasonably sure you're ahead, then why didn't you cap the flop and lead the turn, to get the extra SB in? |
