OT: A football puzzle

I was on vacation last week and while channel surfing found a football game with a score of 17-1.

I thought that was pretty strange.... just three safeties to go.

You probably dont have the, eh-hem, "priveledge" of watching Mike Tice coach on a weekly basis when you say, "in his right mind".

FWIW 8-0 is probably fractionally more likely than 4-4 on safeties alone.

The only NFL game with three safeties in all went to the same side.
