Default Newbie questions

I just read the o8 section in SS2 found this game to be very interesting ( I have played hold em for over a year)
I have played online so far either .10/.25 pl or .5/1 limit (I am doing ok so far- I wanna improve and definalty have the money to play higher I usually play 2/4 NLHE)

So fat to me the players seem pretty crappy (chasing non nut flushes with no low draw, I saw a 4 way all in that bottom set one vs 2 pair, 2 pair and top pair- and noone had a low!) is this common in live games in vegas?

What is a kill game? ( Ive heard of it in hold em but rarely play live)

For anyone who plays NLHE also, what if anything from that game will help me in o8?

Thanks and Im sorry if these seem like really easy questions

I'm not sure anything from hold'm will help you except for the fact that your VPIP should be about the same (at least in Limit).

And yes - many crappy players in LO8. Remember - scooping is the key. Drawing hands to a split is -EV. You win the money by scooping.

- dhood - a kill game is when a player wins two pots in a row the stakes are raised. for example 4-8 now becomes 6-12 (if its a 1/2 kill, a full kill would be 8-16)... the player with the kill is now forced to post one full bet preflop along with the sb and bb's. he also gets to act last after the bb. it creates alot of action in omaha. and def. puts the person on the kill in great position

Kill games are very different in omaha8...It's not based on winning two pots in a row. It's a result of one person scooping one pot of a certain size, usually 5 big bets
