Appears to be a very nice fellow. Does he have a pretty good limit game as well?

Well even though I have you on ignore, I read some of the replies and figured you were asking about other high limit rooms separate from the normal stakes rooms.

I have dealt in the Aladdin's high limit room upstairs in the back of the London Club. Very swanky. The pros (big guns) will come over and play 4k/8k mixed games with the 1k/2k blinds for NL and PL.

They have also done some television filming up there as well.

yeah the 1k/2k blinds are what im getting at here... are these "hidden rooms" common on the strip? if your primarily a poker player aka notawhalefish - how do you get yourself into one of these? does luxor, mandalay bay or even the ventiaian have one of these rooms?

and lastly, have you ever heard of omaha or 5 or 7-card stud played at these high levels?

I do still have you on ingore, but when I hit reply your post comes up.

As for the private rooms. No one really has them. Just Bellagio and Aladdin are the only "private ones" that I know of. You can just walk in and check them out if no game is going. But if there is a game going, 6 figures are going to be needed to get into the game. Onlookers are not allowed. Venetian doesn't even have a poker room "yet".

The normal ring game for the big games are Holdem, No Limit Holdem, PL Omaha high, Omaha hi/lo, 7 stud, stud 8 or better, NL 2-7 lowball. Occasionally some other games may be added. I have never seen razz played in it as it's reverse thinking from other games and just downright frustrating when you're playing those kind of stakes.

According to a number of dealers and my host there, a room will be opening this winter.

Oh I know they will. Their site and the newspaper are hiring for Director, Floormen, and shift managers only right now. The only thing I dont like about the Venetian is they take over a month for a background check and credit check. Both can be done in a few hours. But they have been known to have one of the worst run HR departments in the city.

What is it about my post to your question you didnt get? I answered it entirely including your questions here. I'm unaware they have been going over to Alladdin to play recently, as we see this group most nites. Tonite they were in there as per usual. Playing 2000-4000 limit. But they'll go as high as you want. Just ask. Your welcome to join in I'm sure.

And there is nothing "hidden" about this room. But it is private as far as people being aloud to just stroll on in.

as for luxor, manadlay bay, or venetian, fugetaboutit. If they get a game higher than 4-8 it's a miracle. And these players would tear apart those dealers. (ok so I'm exagerating a little, but not much)

as mentioned....venetian does not currently even have poker....luxor and mandalay typically don't get many games much higher than 4/8 going.

I think the original poster seriously overestimates the amount of high-roller poker money around Las Vegas.
Watch enough of those 'Vegas Whales and High-Rollers' shows on the Travel Channel and you might get that impression.

The fact is, most of the poker-rooms in Las Vegas have 2/4 and 4/8 limit.
Bellagio has the biggest games (in that 15/30 and 30/60 games are going all the time...and they will have the higher limit games too).
Mirage and Wynn also have these medium-limit games as well.
MGM seemed to be iffy about even getting a 10/20 game going regularly.

I was really surprised myself actually.
I really thought there would be 10/20 and higher at like 7 different places when I went to Vegas but this just isn't the case.
I was truly amazed at all the 2/4 limit that's out there (seriously, what's the freaking point?)

Again, I was new to Vegas so didn't really know what to expect...just thought there would be greater availability of games higher than 4/8. My expectations were WAY off.

My sentiments, as well.
