Default K8s -- If I played ANY street correctly, let me know

This is CO's first hand at the table.

UTG+1 is 33/9/1.1 after 82 hands.

Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (8 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. CO posts a blind of $5.
1 fold, UTG+1 calls, 1 fold, Hero calls, 1 fold, CO (poster) raises, 2 folds, BB calls, UTG+1 calls, Hero calls.

The table had been really quite good, and I guess the limp was my way of celebrating that.

Flop: (8.40 SB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players)
BB checks, UTG+1 checks, Hero checks, CO bets, BB folds, UTG+1 calls, Hero raises, CO 3-bets, UTG+1 folds, Hero calls.

Turn: (7.70 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, CO checks.

Well, hmm. This doesn't happen at 3/6.

River: (7.70 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets, Hero raises . . .

I don't checkraise the river enough. (That's my excuse.)

I'm thinking there may be a lot of things to criticize in this hand.

If the turn is a missed c/r I like it as much as I like the river. I'm not sure I like:

1. Pre-flop
2. The flop-c/r has the tendency to fold hands you'd like to call. I guess maybe you can justify it with the overcard though.

Closing the action I would have check/called the flop.

As long as you were raising the turn, that's good. I think the flop is going to get 3-bet a not-insignificant amount of the time, but if that lets you fold out K9 or AT and buy your kings, then I like it - depends on how much of a donk the UTG limper is.

River is good. An aggressive villain will value bet a J or Q here a lot, and most pay your raise off.

I hadn't decided whether I was checkraising a turn bet or not. (That was me: acting without a plan.) Probably I wasn't.

The flop 3-bet intimidated me, and I figured I must be up against, you know, one of the 6 available combinations of KQ, if not something better . (We really need an eye-rolling emoticon, by the way. I think Clarkmeister pointed that out once.)

I figured if I donked the turn, CO would raise only if he had me beat. And I thought if I checked, he'd bet AQ anyway.

Do you really like the river? Or do you dislike both a turn and river checkraise?

I don't like preflop either. It was a pretty abnormal play for me.

On the flop, I didn't anticipate CO's 3-bet followed by UTG+1's fold, but I guess maybe I should have. (But even if the action following the checkraise just went call, call, I'm not sure it's so great.)

Preflop - Fold. The problem here I think is exactly what happened. With 4 people left to act, the chance of a raise when you need to limp is too great.

Flop - Bet. There were 2 checks in front and the aggressor behind. What if he wants a free card? Your intended result worked out fine, but I wouldn't be inclined to take the chance. That's just me.

Turn - Bet. Ah, yes. There it is. The free card.

River - Bet.

That's how I would have played it, FWIW.

Well, yeah, there is that. Even if the checkraise doesn't end up actually being for value, it could at least improve my chances of winning the pot.

So we're thinking maybe he checked with outs on the turn with, for instance, AJ, I take it.

I think it's more that he's weak and got scared of the K on the turn and wanted to induce a bluff on the river.

Problem being that this board had about a million draws that he would have let draw for free. (As I don't think he has a T)

Showing that K8s must have done wonders for your table image.

Bad cr, you're probably behind to someone and you'd rather get everyone to call and build a pot, with the aggressor to your left. If you hit, you can c/r the field for two bets.
