Why don't we just bring this rakeback thing out into the open?

I'm fine w/this idea, in fact, how about the following suggestion:

Someone should start a site, and have it list each site's affiliates and include the following information:
Rate:
Method of tracking: (tracker provided by the site, PTracker screenshot, whatever)
Reliability rating:
Contact info:

Each affiliate pays $X/month to be listed, but the site owner stays objective. Then, when someone asks for a rake rebate here, all we have to do is say "go check out rakerebateanalysis.com."

i think this is a great idea.

for $8.95 a year someone can do this and also fly their own banners there and make money on new sign-ups. the day we allow commercial business to be conducted through posts is the day this place becomes rgp jr.

upon further analysis, i have changed my mind. it is not a great idea, it is a FANTASTIC idea.

it would alleviate much congestion, make mat's job easier, and would mean that no advertisers are ever offended. i would even like to see the URL for such a site in the permanent FAQ post that lorinda will be making for the forum.

as jek says, when someone asks about rake rebates, we can reply with the URL to this third party site. there are more benefits to this idea than just reducing spam and forum congestion.

brilliant idea. now we just need someone to do it.

Would affiliates be afraid of this?
I mean, the sites (Party, Empire, etc) could easily figure out who's kicking back rake if this site were up.

Would affiliates worry about getting shut down?

Other than that, I might be able to help create the site. I'm a web developer.

Thanks,
Johnny.

Anybody heard back yet?

I'm also interested in offers.

I've been playing about a year, and I put in roughly 30-40 hours a week. I play right around 250 sng's per month (PT shows 1500+ in the last 6 months), however, I'm looking to start playing more ring games.

PM me please.

OK, I am going to start this site for rake rebate comparisons. I have the domain and will offer this service for free until end of year to see if there is interest.

If you are a rake back affiliate and would like to be included email me at pokeraddict@pokeraddict.net

I guess that's the chance the affiliates take, but you can give rakeback while still operating w/in the rules. I'm not worried.

whomever is goingto do this, i have a couple of thoughts/suggestions.

1. regarding the sites figuring out who is offering rakeback, i would imagine the affiliate would provide a hotmail addy. there is no difference between that and openly posting it here. openly posting it here is probably MORE risky to the affiliate because some people will start narcing out others if it became too open at 2+2.

2. the hits you would get would be awesome. the "official rake rebate" thread shows the potential of traffic that would be driven to your site. also, that is just one thread. i would guess that the hits this week alone would be over 10k.

3. the site does not have to be much more complex than a simple spreadsheet.

e.g.

party
(email addy is clickable)
affil offer affil email affil ranking comments
-----------------------------------------------------

27% mary@pokerseen.com 1 of 10 will throw in bj over 2k/mo
30% MM@8-4.com 0 of 10 free book

empire

etc etc etc

my 3 cents
