Default Problems with PokerStars Mods

I've just started playing seriously on Stars and tried to mod the table and cards.

The problem is that everytime I rewrite the original images, the client claims that a newer version is available and overwrites my images with the originals again.

Has anyone successfully changed their PokerStars images? (Not the characters, the table/cards)

In the pokerstars program folder there are 2 pokerstars exe files. One of them is pokerstarsupdate.exe. You need to use the other one... Pokerstars.exe Then once a week or so, back up your graphics folders and run the update to make sure you are on the latest client. I wouldn't mind seeing the mod if you want to share. So far I have just been using the same table image mods made for Empire/Party.

I'll show it here, when it's done, it you want.

It's not going to be anything special though.

I'm just blanking out the table and making the cards easier to read for 4 tabling while 4 tabling party at the same time.

I also want to unclutter the display in anticipation of PV working with stars.

I would like to see it. I currently use Poker Office and and the overlay works with Stars. Uncluttered sounds good.

Here's the basic version right now.

I'll post one of my Eurobet table too, so you can see that as well. The main reason I changed the table color was so that I would remember which was which.

Alternatively , you could write a script that moves your modified files out, puts back the original images, and then runs the update. After the update sees that everything is factory original, move the files back.

Here is what I use.

move Gx\bg.jpg Gx\bg.jpg.bak
move Gx\bgnorm.jpg Gx\bg.jpg
PokerStarsUpdate.exe
move Gx\bg.jpg Gx\bgnorm.jpg
move Gx\bg.jpg.bak Gx\bg.jpg

It moves my modified table to bg.jpg.bk and the original table back to bg.jpg where the program expects to find it,runs the update, then shuffles them back afterwards. It takes only a second or two to run, and will restore my modified table even if Stars makes an update to their original table.

Just write in notepad or other word editor and save it as a .bat file; I call mine PS.bat and changed the icon in the Properties to the Stars logo. Run the .bat file instead of the Stars .exe file when you want to load the program.

Hope this helps,

Shauna
