Default Dell v. Samsung

I know the Dell2001fp is a favorite around here, but I can get the Samsung SyncMaster 21.3" (widescreen) at a pretty good discount. Assume it'd cost $150 more than the Dell, what do people think? Anybody have the Samsung monitor?

samsung response time is crappy and only useful if you are not doing any gaming.

From the context, I take it you're not talking about their response time for customer service, which means I don't know what you mean.

Gotcha. The only games I play are poker, chess and a little Civ, so I don't think that would be a problem, but what about watching DVDs on it?

Well, I could only speculate. Don't get me wrong, the samsung is a beautiful monitor, but I don't feel that it is worth even 150$ more than the dell.

Cool, thanx for the info. Unless some people chime in otherwise, I'll go ahead with the Dell.

One thing cool about the Samsung though, you can rotate it so it is longer vertically. Kinda neat.

Yeah, the salesperson made sure to show me that . Just thought of another thing though, is the Dell a widescreen too?

I have two of these Samsung monitors. They're absolutely superb.
