Default AKs gets turn checkraised.

villain is 50/5/1.5 334 hands

villain was running good at this table and was playing his made hands very aggressively.

fold the river unimproved? call down? or just fold to the turn checkraise?

this is a really tricky spot. i think a fold is usually best here especially since when he checks to you, he is expecting you to bet that ace which makes his checkraise seem even more legit.

I call this down and smack myself when they sd the set I had read. Pot is a little too big for me to fold tptk hu.

Quite a bad spot to be in... however the pot is fairly big and folding TPTK heads-up isnt something I like to do unless my read is extremly accurate. I'm thinking J9 or T9 of clubs could semi-bluff C/R this turn, seeing as you'd probably let go a PP under aces after this action. Aside from that id say you're looking at a set or a raggedy 2-pairs a lot of the time... if my read on villain is rock, I fold UI. This guy seems pretty loose though, so i'd probably call down.

Unless UTG bets almost every flop I don't get the flop raise.

He faced two player with two-cold and knocked them both out. This cleans up some outs in a large pot IMO.

I think you have to call him down on principle, here. He's a 50 VPIP, and with that VPIP a PFA of 1.5 is pretty aggressive. He could just as easily have a couple of tens as something like A9 or 55. Can't let players like that run over you when you're on TPTK, IMHO.

The only hands that Hero would like to fold are A5, A9, and A3 (and K counterparts) which are somewhat unlikely given the preflop action. Hero is almost never ahead here if UTG is reasonable. Very little or no fold equity. Unlikely to get free card, chance of 3-bet, etc. I'd just call.

I raise here because the board is ragged and I could have the best hand, also any hand I fold out increases my chances of winning in this raised pot. I see players take shots on low flops like this quite often when a tight player raises preflop putting me on overcards. If villain had a monster hand I would think he would chechraise me instead, so I raise. It is a pretty standard flop raise IMO. In SSHE page 231 there is hand example almost exactly like the hand I posted and it says against a aggressive player this should be a raise.

I like the raise if you think you get lots of respect at the table.
