Default Poker Rooms in North Indiana Area

Hello all-

I'm new to the posting... been reading here on 2+2 since I purchased SSHE. All kinds of great information here... and as long as one doesn't get too much of an ego, everyone seems friendly.

My question is this: I'm planning a day trip to play some low-stakes HE. I live in South Bend, IN (home of Notre Dame, unfortunately, for those who don't know). About 90 miles from Chicago and 200 miles from Detroit.

I'd ideally like to play $2/$4 or $3/$6, as my B&M experience is basically seven hours over the last two years playing $2/$4 in Vegas. I could afford up to $5/$10 or $6/$12, if the games were significantly better that I couldn't miss out on. I'd prefer the lower stakes though.

So, 2+2'ers, where should I head? I have heard that Trump, IN has $3/$6 kill... is that correct? Or is somewhere else better? Look forward to hearing from everyone.

they do have a 3-6 game with a full kill at the trump in gary. I think the lowest game they have at harrah's in east chicago (you can see harrah's from the trump poker room, so it's literally five minutes up kline avenue) is 5-10, but I haven't played at harrah's in a few years.

I believe that the Blue Chip in Michigan City, IN still has poker and would be your closest casino.

Did they reopen? They did close down awhile back and their tables and a bunch of dealers went over to Trump.

Regards,

The last time I heard that Blue Chip had a poker room, I drove the half hour only to find that they had none... the poker room had turned into a "VIP" blackjack area or some such.

Thanks for the help all.

I stand corrected. I hadn't heard about it for awhile. They must be the only casino in the country actually closing their poker room these days.

This was close to a year ago, maybe more... for all I know, they could have re-opened it, although I think that's doubtful knowin how that place seems to be run. Mebbe I'll call and update the status.

Harrah's 5-10 is very loose-passive and very beatable if you have the patience. Trump has more punk kids wearing sunglasses. I thought it would be a long drive from South Bend until I met a guy there about six months ago who drove up from Layfayette (he was a Purdue student) and did some crazy 54 hour marathon.

With 5/10 being Harrah's lowest limit, is is comporable to, say, a Vegas 2/4 game or more like a Party 3/6 game?

You're giving them way too much credit. Never played Vegas 2/4. Harrah's 5/10 is like PP .5/1, but probably more passive. You'll see people not raising with AK pre-flop, flopping an ace, and check-calling you down to the river. Read up on SSH if you go. I may be at the 10/20 when you're there, let me know if you go.
