Do we have to pick a different game if we win? [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

I wiiiiiiin.

Guess what we're playing next? Yes, it's Triple Draw. Because the GamesGrid people didn't think they could get my first choice (Studuki) done in time.

Not sure if I get any say in blind structure.

here is a link to Mark's structure for the first GG TD tourney (except 1000/2000 rather than 1500/3000) which I think worked pretty well, though the first level could be removed. One change I would like to have, which might be difficult to program, is to have the levels stop increasing as soon as there are 30 big bets or less on the table, allowing the tournament to play out without becoming a complete luckfest. If that's not possible, the final levels should increase more slowly.

Hm, I really think the blinds do need to keep increasing. But hey, not my choice.

15-minute levels and removing the first round would make a more playable structure.

Do you like or hate the 2 chip/3 chip blinds?

So, suppose we get 30 players. That's 60K chips, so 30 big bets on the final table is a big bet of 2K. We can easily adapt my original schedule to provide more play at around this level, maybe something like this:

levels/blinds
1 30/60 15/30 (or 20/30 blinds)
2 40/80 20/40
3 50/100 25/50
4 100/200 50/100
break
5 150/300 100/150
6 200/400 100/200
7 300/600 150/300 (or 200/300 blinds)
8 500/1000 250/500
break
9 600/1200 300/600 (or 400/600 blinds)
10 800/1600 400/800
11 1000/2000 500/1000
12 1200/2400 600/1200 (or 900/1200 blinds)
13 1500/3000 750/1500 (or 1000/1500 blinds)
14 2000/4000 1000/2000

With 20 players, 30 big bets on the final table is a big bet of 1300, so I made sure there was a level in between 1000 and 1600.

With 15 players, 30 BB = 1000/BB.

With more players, things may drag on a bit. The big bet increases 5x in the first hour, 4x in the second hour, but less than 3x in the third hour.

Level 4 is the only 1-level doubling. It increases the big bet to 1/10th the original stack, so this really where the pressure starts, I think.

So, does anybody else think antes need to start much earlier in the NL 2-7 tournaments? We were down to almost the bubble when they started tonight.

I totally spaced on the date for this or else I woulda been there.

Anyway, you might as well start with antes in 2-7 single draw, imo. There's only two betting rounds; antes give you something to fight over. Without them, players are forced to play really, really tight.

I've been playing a lot of 30BB freezeouts for the two 2+2 headsup tournaments I'm in. I think it works pretty well, and that's with 60BB on the table.

I think antes ought to be there from the beginning. They're in the ring games.
