Default Folding top pair on the flop...

Table is noticably tight passive.

I disagree with folding the flop. First, you should 3-bet the flop when CO raised you and the hand will play differently.

Since you only called, you might be looking at flush draws/top pair-worse kicker from your villians. With position, I want to see what they do on the turn before I lay this one down.

9T also has an OESD. I agree with 3-betting the flop after CO's raise. I'd play this hand very carefully though; even if Hero's hand is currently the best, collectively the field could have a lot of outs to crush him later in the hand.

Given how you played it. Ok.

I'd have 3 bet the CO. He could be on a draw. T9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] would be a draw a tight passive would jam with. But then again, could be more of a made hand.

My concern is the BB waking up and 3 betting. That's the siren I'm hearing.

I would never fold this flop. The board is draw heavy and somebody could easily be overplaying a weaker J. The BB either has you crushed or has a draw, but notice that his play is entirely consistent with a draw.

I think one problem is the above "read." Although a table can seem to be on the "tight-passive" side, it does not mean that every opponent is tight-passive, especially since "tight-passive" players, at least according to Pokertracker rules, are not very common at lower levels. Indeed, you will probably have no more than two, genuine tight-passive players at your table--otherwise, why would you even be playing there?

Anyone, unless I knew both of my opponents to be veritable rocks, I would not have folded the flop...and I would have three-bet the first time around.
