Nice brag post

I think you should have led for your normal CB on the flop. At this level I guess people feel slowplaying is the more profitable approach. After checking the flop, most villains will give you credit for AK and will bet their pp or Tx.

In some $100 and many $200 games, you should try to play this hand just like you have AK. You want your opponent to sense weakness and make a move on you. Anyone who is paying attention will notice you slow play your monsters. Guess what happens then? You get action when you are trying to move people off of pots by being aggressive and you get folds when you wake up on the turn or river.

I disagree that you couldn't have played it better. I'd have bet the flop. Anytime someone checks bechind on the flop after raising preflop, then RAISES the turn it's basically an autofold for me unless I have the nuts (TT) here. I'd have folded so fast it wasn't funny on the turn unless I had a boat....if he has a boat, he has a T, which means he'd have called the flop bet anyway. I think you were lucky to be against a donk here....against a good player I think they wriggle off the hook on the turn.

Bet the flop because that's what you'd do with AK or JJ. You could check behind on the turn or just cold call the bet then go nuts on the river. As played, I'm really surprised that villain paid you off with J9 or AT or whatever he had.

This is true against a solid player, against a donk he gets suspicious and thinks you are making a move on him. You are playing donks at these stakes, thats why I like this line. I get called by MARGINAL hands when I take this line. If villain was solid then a CB is definately in order, but villain is prob not, and that is why I like OP's line better than the one you advocated.
