Default Micro 6 max: A9s

I'm not sure about the way I played this hand. It is literally my first hand at the table. Comments on all streets are appreciated.

I'll post my thoughts on the hand when I get to campus.

I would probably c/r/call the river.

I might go for a checkraise on the river. Other than that, same-same.

Hey Wook - what is your first thought after getting 3-bet on the flop? With no reads given, is there any rational to giving credit for a better A here? Is my recent lack of success making me weak-tight?

With no reads, I think the turn call is OK. That K may be a good card for us because it can give us hidden outs to chop if the board pairs below it. That's likely to be 6 hidden outs plus our 9's, so I want to see the river.

True. This actually happened to me yesterday - I had something like A9 on an AKJJ board at the turn. I ended up folding to AQ, but got lucky - there was a player yet to act who called down with KJ. Seriously - called down. But that's another story.

I don't really like the flop checkraise, why do we want to knock out UTG on this board? I just lead the flop.

We want to increase our chances of winning. The pot is large enough that we would rather have him out than in.

I think he folds the flop without an ace very often when we lead into the preflop raiser on an ace high flop. The risk of a raise is way too high to call with a 7 or 2 profitably and the only draws are 34/35/45.

Muck this preflop. That's pretty bad. The flop check raise isn't too bad, but I think I fold this when villain 3 bets. At that point we are getting 13:1 to see a turn and I'm positive that we have 3 outs max.

What do you think villain is three betting with, KK? Doubt it.
