I'm really unhappy with how I played this and would like to do it street by street with all you poker players who are better than me.

PP 5/10 10 handed. I am MP1 with QJs and I openraise. MP3 (a slightly laggy player, but not bad) 3-bets. A horrible player in the CO coldcalls, folded to me and I call. Flop is JTx, rainbow. I lead, MP3 raises, CO coldcalls, I ???

What does MP3 3-bet pf that you are beating? AK, AQ, KQ, 99. Anything else?

Would MP3 semi-bluff with overcards and a gutter? If so, you might want to call down in a pot this size (11.5 SB?).

But you've got a lot of ways to lose. Your effective odds suck on this next bet.

Having said that--you should wait for the good players to weigh in.

Ah, jeez. I guess probably you're either behind (possibly badly) or MP3 has overcards and a gutshot. (And, given your description of CO, who knows what he might have.)

I think I'd probably just call for now and think about pulling a stop-n-go on a turn blank.

If you think he may be trying to push you off then I'd call it down unless it gets uglier for your hand. If you think he's you and you're him then its a clear fold cuz that way you get his money once you turn back into yourself.

Right. The question is whose hand is most improved by one of those? I'd check and fold if it's 2 back to me with that turn card. You'd be getting 4.5 to 1 on a gut shot and a discounted OESD if the K comes (the bottom end may not make you the best hand).

I wasn't thinking of an ace or king as a blank.

I think I would check the turn on either of those.

I also think this is a difficult hand. (For instance, I'm not really sure if I want to stop-n-go on a rag either. If MP3 will bet overs and a gutshot again anyway, but will just call with those hands if I bet but raise with something better, then I think I'd rather just check.)

This all makes sense, and I'm glad someone else agrees the hand is tough. For no good reason at all I figured the CO retard to be drawing slim so I 3-bet because i figured it was a definite value bet against him and not bad against MP3 if he's on overs + gut. Is 3-betting here totally retarded or just sort of retarded?
