Hypothetical
This happened in Woods, where I had TT and I had a feeling I was beat and laid it down after the flop when the preflop bet was 30, but I've been thinking about this hypothetical a lot lately. Tell me what you think.
2-5 nl. Villain in CO has stack of 3kish, as do you on the button. Assume the villain is maniac/overaggrassive postflop, but smart preflop. Villain raises and you are 100% sure he has AA. You look down and see anything from TT to KK, positive you are beaten preflop. How little would that raise have to be for you to see the flop, try to make a set, and try to make as much money as possible, or is this play never worth it if you are 100% sure you are behind preflop even with a big hand? Thanks for any response |

Re: Hypothetical
if your 100% sure he has AA and he is maniac and agresive post flop then you can be pretty sure he is going to get all his money in with Aces at any point in the hand, so you can pretty much call almost any raise preflop within reason.

Re: Hypothetical
Yes, you call when you think that if you hit your set, you'll be able to get about ten times the size of the raise out of him later. So if the raise is to 50, you need to be confident you'll get 500 out of him if you hit your set. Shouldn't be too hard if the board isn't too scary, so I'd definitely call. Sometimes you'll get his entire stack, so a call is very much worth it.
